Head gasket TDv8

So all symptoms say the head gasket(s) of my 2006 TDv8 is gone.
There's pressure on the cool fluid, so she's spilling her water via the cool fluid shell.

Any one had this before? Is it possible to change the gasket without taking the motor out?

I'll keep you guys posted. '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)

Yikes, sorry to hear of your woes, hope its sorted for you soon.

I am sure Craig will be able to tell you if the engine needs to come out or not.

Good luck.

Better check your oil and ATF. A ruptured cooler shows similar issues.

On mine both the ATF and engine oil heat exchangers (oil to coolant) ruptured within a month of each other (in hindsight because the Nigerian mechanics put pure water in the system after the AC was replaced, idiots for doing it, me idiot for not checking it).

You won't necessarily find coolant in the engine oil (I didn't). The gearbox ATF did turn into a horrible milkshake like fluid though. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Ide be checking many many other things before the HG my friend... Not a common issue at all! Have you had a very good mechanic (who knows these engines) look at it? There are so many things to check before condemning HG... Have you simply bled the system properly? Because they can be Censored to bleed!!! And as Eugene says above, check the ATF & EO coolers before going any further... Thumbs Up

It's hard finding a good mechanic who knows these engines in Belgium. I'll probably take it to the dealer tomorrow, and let them check it... '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)
