The video posted by Stan shows the connections being done at the front of the car, but then thats an HSE without the extra amps in the boot......

What connections do you have at the front of the car, behind the screen ?

Do you have masses of lead length thats meant to reach as far as the boot ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The connecter on the right has funny prongs that don't seem to go anywhere as per picture and black wire is cdc-gnd,red wire is cdc-r, white wire is cdc-l

Hi Stan I have seen this video. , The only wires I have in the front is a white plug and a blue plug into the back of the original head unit.
The wiring loom I have been sent will reach about a RR and another half. I thought I would try getting it working before I start feeding it through the interior.

HI MJdronfield/stan,
on my new harness the block on the far left has four wires sticking out. I have checked this with the wiring diagram previously posted.
no. 10 no.11 which are phone
no. 12 ground,
no.15 live,
Would it be silly of me thinking these are not important. or are these vital. im thinking that ive been stupid and I need to connect these somewhere. what do you think ????

Excellent. I knew others on here had done something similar, but not having done it myself, was on the edge of guesswork, which doesn't always help.

Hi guys thanks for all your help. I have managed to get it going.
Heres how looking at my first pictures .
The block connecter on the left had to have the white sub connecter from the cars bm54 loom. Then the live and earth from the left connecter fed into no.12 ,no.15 into the middle connecter.
Then connect the left block into the bm54 module. Then connect the middle block to the cars loom.
Then connect the antenna to the little connection on the bm54 module.
I left the original head unit attached and turned them both on had to adjust volume so new stereo was the same volume.

I have disconnected the white and blue cable on the other module thinking that these were the leads to the head unit but the old unit still has power I will try and disconnect the old one when I have a little more time and see if we can get rid of it altogether.
I will keep you updated on my progress

Had a feeling the little sub plugs had to be moved about.

I have removed the old unit completely and still the new head unit works......
Now to disconnect it all and start feeding all the cables through the interior. I think I will be looking for clues on internet to see the best way to strip the interior.

Does the original head unit not control the clock on the dash and a couple of other bits and bobs. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Not sure about the other stuff, but you can set the clock by taking the fuse out and putting it back in at 12 o'clock, as that's what it goes to on a reset......

You may only have to do that twice a year when the clocks change. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I like the look of that head unit and would love to upgrade my non-touch screen unit. However even with all the information in this thread I am still at a complete loss.

Hi Rej. I didn't notice the clock stopping. but the loom comes with a little magic canbus box which makes all the steering wheel controls work.
Iphs, I will upload new pictures once it is installed and wired through the car. after all the threads and conversation with mjdronfield it is not to hard.
