The connecter on the right has funny prongs that don't seem to go anywhere as per picture and black wire is cdc-gnd,red wire is cdc-r, white wire is cdc-l

Hi Stan I have seen this video. , The only wires I have in the front is a white plug and a blue plug into the back of the original head unit.

Andy
if it has the better sound system as standard with the black amp in the boot(from the photos you have) and the non touch screen satnav the new radio will not work without a little modification to start with it looks to me you have the wrong loom for the vogue , you need the fully populated fakra connectors where all 40 pins are used
ok also the amp in the boot will only switch on with the OME display screen plugged in (its canbus operated) dont forget the range has NO aux feed to the OME tuner in the boot so there should be a red fly lead you need to live up on the new radio loom to get aux power to the new radio. so plug the new radio 40 pin connector into the plug that came out of the silver tuner box in the boot plug in the OME screen white and blue connectors and after about 20 secs it should switch the amp on and work. i removed the CD changer and put the old head unit in its place (about 5 years ago ) but im sure there would be a little box of tricks available from somewhere to fool the amp into switching on if you did not want to put the screen in the glove box.
its well worth the end result stick with it nige |

Excellent. I knew others on here had done something similar, but not having done it myself, was on the edge of guesswork, which doesn't always help.

Does the original head unit not control the clock on the dash and a couple of other bits and bobs. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Not sure about the other stuff, but you can set the clock by taking the fuse out and putting it back in at 12 o'clock, as that's what it goes to on a reset......

I like the look of that head unit and would love to upgrade my non-touch screen unit. However even with all the information in this thread I am still at a complete loss.

Hi Rej. I didn't notice the clock stopping. but the loom comes with a little magic canbus box which makes all the steering wheel controls work.
