Shift motor and position sensor. | |
As a few of you may have read i have another leak from my 3.6 tdv8 transfer box, i spent half an hour under the car with a torch and a rag, i am now fairly sure that the leak is coming from further up the box not the new silicone seal, i wiped it all down and am going to run it a while to confirm later on.
There is evidence of leakage around the shift motor and the position sensor, it seems to be the top of the oil trail, there is no oil on the back front of the casing or drivers side, its all on the rear passenger side upper(has run round underneath too). I am assuming that it would be possible for the seals on these to fail as they are o ring type. The question is, is it possible to remove the shift motor and/or the position sensor without removing the transfer box? Cant find any reference to it in the trans box section of rave! Seems to be about enough room!
As they are at the top of the box im assuming that the box doesnt need draining!
Not thinking many will have done this.......but you never know.
Much bowing There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
