you dont have to but the other side will be 'as' worn as your blown one so it would make sense to do the both.. .. ... - .- -.

As has been said it's advisable to replace both at the same time unless one has failed soon after replacing. The front strut also contains the damper so if not changed in pairs could lead to wayward handling plus the reason of airbag wear mentioned by Stan above.

Also, the Dunlops do not come highly recommended on the forum, many early failures reported. Get the Delphis. .

I agree with Joe90..... I put a pair of Delphi units on over a year ago, after reading about some issues with the Dunlops.

I replaced them both on my 4.2 and they were both similarly worn (normally you couldn't see it but once of the car and the bags blown up it was crack fest). Both Delphi (only option for the SCs anyway) from Island 4x4 who had the best price at the time. Plus they arranged delivery to Nigeria without any hassle.

I did both of mine with the dunlops and I've had no problems. |

Not all of the Dunlops are bad, just that there are a few people on here that had to replace them very shortly after the new ones went in. If I remember correctly the issue was the top bearing failing. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I seem to remember something about the Dunlops sometimes making a clunking noise over bumps / when cornering.

They arrived yesterday and due to people's posts about the top bearing on the dunlops , had a good look at them and they appear to be ok , it's tomorrow's job so hope the rain holds off . |

I suggest to make sure the top bearings are well greased if not sealed. To prevent potential issues. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

@birchyman71, it is not only grease in the top, it is the bad quality of the bearings. Save your bill, and if there is some knock-knock after some months, you can bring them back (I did so, first ordered Dunlops at island4x4, after nine month full waste, ordered some Delphi, difference price was 50 GBP, only the 50 I had to pay, the old dunlops they dont want to deliver back, so I could open them and had a closer look in the bearings...) Best wishes!!! Uli L405 SDV8 2017 + Lancia Flavia Coupe 1964 + RRS L494 3.0 SDV6 + C220CDI Convertible 2021 |

done them today ,drivers side was original dated 2002 ,passenger one was 2006 ,took about 2 hours all together ,going to get the alignment checked tomorrow sometime just to make sure I haven't disturbed it . test drove it no clunks or bangs so will wait and see and as I've been warned I'll be keeping the invoice just incase. On a good note the movement times from access /normal /offroad have easily halved. |
