Don't know which is worse, taking three attempts or admitting to driving a Hilux... |

well never lasted long enough for the stealers chap came to do chip and it cracked so new screen it is . So question is what rights do I have to insist on a Landrover Screen ?? or am I at the mercy of the insurance company? |

When my BMW 730 Sport picked up a chip on the screen, i took it to National since they were in bed with the insurers.

Down to the insurer really, best bet is a pilkington screen should be able to get one from insurer, same as the original but no LR stamp.

I'd be questioning your insurance cover firstly. Check your documentation - is this extra charge specified ?

Yes it is the insurance company that say it has to be manufacturer equivalent and if I want the original the excess applies - I can see where it comes from as Landrover want way over a grand for supply only. Autoglass have said that the non LR one comes from the same factory and has the following spec LANDROVER RANGE ROVER 5J 2002-ON WINDSCREEN-GREEN+ACOUSTIC+GREEN TOP TINT+HEATED+VIN+MOISTURE SENSOR+ROUND BOSS

I did Stan and Autoglass assure me the specification is exactly the same but it will not have Landrover stamp in bottom left hand corner - is it the sort of thing that would have an effect on resale value ? Cant see it really but you never know |
