K&N filter for facelifted car

Can anyone answer this question...when the K&N air filter is fitted to facelift early V8's to the 2009 front what happens to the secondary air injection?

On the box type filters obviously not an issue but could this have an adverse effect to the running of the system and could it cause the amber light to come on? 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze

I had k&n cone air filter on my previous 2004 converted 2007 FFRR - did not have any lights coming on, etc. However my indie then managed to get the original air filter housing (and filter) into the space available.

This lowered the induction noise levels when accelerating which was a positive for me.

On the 4.2 I had a K&N filter replacing the standard paper filter element (due to ridiculous cost of those in Nigeria, more than a K&N from Europe). No change in induction noise.

On the 5.0 I plan to stay with OEM units as I don't believe that the K&N filters make that much difference and also the concerns regarding the filter quality of K&N filters or similar filters has put me of them. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I have the K&N on mine (never seen an issue with 2012 conversions) and I love the extra induction noise Very Happy Cool

Gary, have you modified the software at all to allow for the car running a little leaner? 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze

I did not do the facelift, Clarkes Premier do them. I will ask but I very much doubt it. Has run like a dream for last 6000 miles.... I get nearly 17 mpg and its the 4.4 Petrol.

The FFRR tends to use variable maps under 3k revs and then default maps after 3k for the AJV8 cars (probably similar on the BMW engined ones too). The car will have a couple of expected AFR's in the map and it'll adjust the fuelling accordingly, this is the whole point of the MAF.

Pretty sure no adjustment needed as above. My car and previous facelifts have run great with a K&N. And Lee did not make any adjustments to the tuning of my car Thumbs Up
