I always thought that if the milage on one ECU didn't mach another ECU with it stored on a black dot would be placed next to the milage in the LCD read out on the dash . Is there a dot there on this one ? 2008 MY Supercharged

The good clockers change the mileage setting in multiple ECUs.

Just spoke to a mate of mine who works for Porsche and he says that the ecu that controls the mileage display is easy to change and they often do it if a vehicle has a new speedo etc. What they cannot change is the vehicle clock which is based on time that the ignition is on. It is not possible to change this by any means (on Porsche cars) so if a car is 10 years old and has 3000 hours on the time clock (which he said was about average) but any more than 60,000 miles on it - then something is wrong and it has been clocked. He said there was a rule of thumb in miles vs time, that they work on but he couldnt tell me what it is.

Gents, I'm new to ffrr. 6 month ago I purchased my first rr. 57reg 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE with all the trimmings. Im very happy with the motor but started to dig into the history... I have found the landrover have a comprehensive history for this vehicle from new till 2011 showing mileage upto 76000. I purchased the vehical with 59000 on the clock at the end of 2013. all previous mots support that mileage. All the previous mot's and service indicated in the service book were done at the same garage. I haven't made contact yet with the garage that done the mot's but have spoken with the garage I purchased the vehical from and they are looking into the matter..... I definitely believe land rovers history to be correct and the vehicles mileage has been adjusted At some point.

Your MOT certificate should give you details of the last 4 x MOTs with date and mileage so it should be really easy to see if it has been recently clocked or not.

I'm guessing the mot's are fake otherwise it would be very easy to know it's been clocked. The difference between theory and reality is that in theory it will work. |

rry the mot I have shows the last 4 mom and they do correspond with the current mileage. I also checked this online at directgov and this also matches the mot cert that I have.
