The new 2010 model is extremely stable as per my off road day at LR when we did the 65mph (not kidding) down a grassy/muddy hill then did a very severe swerve (as if trying to miss a car that had just done an emergency stop in front of you on the motorway) without DSC and assists turned on and went into a full 360 degree + spin out of control down the hill and came to a halt. Did same again with all aids on and the car was able to be swerved to miss ' the obstacle' then returned back into 'the virtual lane' with little drama. It was ridiculously impressive to be honest, for the size of the car and the severity of the swerve we performed. Steve

It's easy to roll almost any vehicle if you have an obstacle to hit first in the right (wrong) way - even a kerb! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

He must have hit something, maybe clipped a high kerb or something.

Cars generally can be really easy to roll. At an accident the other day a motorbike managed to put an X5 on it's side. The bike was overtaling traffic at high speed when the X5 turned right across front of it. The bike hit it in the rear corner and turned it over.
