You've got to wonder why these current model 7 series BMW's are going for such little money Whistle Gorgeous looking car for the money and 41 mpg Bow down I'm sorely tempted, not by this particular example just in general

That is ridiculous value, they are great cars to dive as well and mask their size on the road very well... 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

I thought so too when I saw it, but a search on AT shows loads at that kind of money. Cracking value. Graham

Funnily enough the big engine petrol cars are worth double at the same age. Odd. But good. I might buy one. Graham

I have to admit, before the return to the green oval I had more than a quick look at another A8....they are simply stunning.... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Yes loads from the £13 - 16k mark Whistle

I suppose petrol engines on these newer cars must be very rare as no one bought them, so they may command a premium Thumbs Up

Personally I think it's astonishing that you can get such a high end car which is only 3 -4 years old for so little money.... Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

Wow! That does seem good value. Shocked
I'm not up on BMW values, but wow. I loved the look of the E38 7, but HATED its replacement. The 7 is now starting to slowly get its looks back and that's a nice looking one.
Interesting comment about it being a better car. Here, we cannot drive at speeds where the superior handling becomes an issue. I haven't been in the new 7, but I was in a new Merc S a few weeks ago. Lovely looking car. First rate interior, but it felt closed in and I was surrounded. I liked the better view and airier cabin of my FFRR.

It's a lot of car for the money. When I was young, the 7 series and S Class were cars you could only dream of. I had a Lexus LS400 for a while, amazing car. Big slushy saloons are totally out of fashion now and replaced by SUVs, people carriers and so on.

Someone I know has just bought a NEW 7 series. It was registered on the last day of the month before the new registration. He got a huge discount and even BMW GB backed the deal to sell. There is still an eye watering level of depreciation ahead of him!

Lovely cars, no doubt about that. The market is just not there though and whilst you should buy what you want for yourself I do think that it's wise to buy something that isn't going to be impossible to sell when you want out. As said already, people like to sit up high now and the overall image of these saloons is under pressure and heading to the next wave of "pub landlord" cars..... 2006 4.2 SC

I'm in love with mine. Superbly comfortable, beautifully crafted, quiet and really rather economical...: that's >50mpg on a 60 mile trip. Over 40mpg is easily done. 200 quid a year to insure and £180 - £300 for a service too.

I don't mind saying that when your's was for sale I was very very tempted, I'll have another one day....or an S8 - if the wallet stretches as far as KSA for fuel !!!!

It's quite a clever car with a setting like "short term memory".....mind reading too !!!!!! Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

= trip memory of course. All VAG cars with trip computers have it. Quite useful. Graham
