Knocking update. The latest idea from the dealer is that the knocking is an engine mount!!!
They have spoken to another dealer who changed one and sorted the knock? It's going in tommorow!
Oh yes, since last post, engine management light been on and rear door unable to open from inside due to a cable coming off.
Good job I like it.

Mine had a new engine mount when it was in for the ARB.

I have heard that the parts that they are fitting now are at last a solution and my car does seem to be ok. The reason that cars have been rolling off the line still with knocking is that they are prioritising the new parts to more litigious markets.

Peter From Land Rover is on here as is another JLR social employee, it would be nice if Peter gave some real input on technical issues and resolutions, it's nice we have a JLR guy on here .............

BUT would it not be great to actually have some technical feedback and support on the forums both this one and RRS, would look great from the outside for the perspective of even people who are thinking about buying a LR to see some actual pro-actice JLR support to current owners that have spent XXX £'s on a new car that has technical issues IMO !. You're not going to get any admission of fault or liability on an unofficial public forum. Perhaps some more direct intervention via the dealers would be appreciated, even on a collective basis.

The dealers are being made to jump through hoops and big ones to even get a tech from JLR out , let alone a tech who stands there and just says that's the way they are, i know i have witnessed it in the last few weeks.

Yes the dealer has the profit in the cars but should they be made to put 40 hours labour into a car in its first 12 months to fault find and correct factory build and quality of build issues !

I think Topix sums up what is really going on with JLR cars at the moment IMO,

Controlling social presence on the web is all about showing that the company is there to support it's customers this feeds back to the system in all sorts of ways, take Google search for "land Rover problems" for example loads of negative social media feedback, however if that media was supported and responded to with support it's also a great sales tool ! of course when times are good like they are a TATA at the moment maybe its a who gives a damn attitude, however when times are tough say 2008 to 2010 this is when a company gets bitten in the butt for customer neglect IMO. Far to many gone...

Surely the dealer bills JLR for labour hours spent on warranty fixes???
