South Africa 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Baltic Blue

did my first long trip (900kms or 560miles) yesterday.

boy oh boy - what a difference from my previous one (bmw 4.4 vCool - just touch the loud pedal and she's gone Mr. Green . and the noise of the supercharger - i can just imagine what she will sound like with a modified performance exhaust.

took car for wheel balancing yesterday - found out why there is a vibration on the car. lo and behold, 1 rim (right front) is buckled, when they checked the spare, it was also buckled.

Spoke to the dealer who told me to bring the car so that they can have the rims repaired. Glad its "only" the rims it seems and nothing more serious.

other than that - did another 600kms over the last 3 days -what a pleasure - just enough power quiet when cruising, but again that supercharger noise when you give it stick Mr. Green. so don't know why i did not do it sooner.

also saw yesterday they are advertising my car (this one) at R405700 (GBP25350) so if that is what they originally wanted for the car then I actually got a very good deal. Also only realised yesterday that the dealer originally advertised the car as a RRS SC and FFRR SC, possibly why the price was initially lower.

Would not mind if they sell it at R405700 because then I can use that money to buy the 5.0 SC. Mr. Green Twisted Evil

here is the link to the latest advertisement of the very same car that is mine

http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-cars/land...eszar/2011

what does one do in such a case? do you hope that the dealer will realise their mistake and have the advert cancelled? what do you do if they get a buyer that is prepared to pay that price - do you offer the car back to the dealer, give them some commission and take the rest and buy the 5.0 SC?

I don't think you'll have a 5.0 SC for that kind of money though. Well I hope so as it would mean I've lost a lot of money! Sad
The same happens in real estate, agents advertising a house that is already sold because of advanced booking of the adverts, shouldn't worry. Tell them if they have a client you would be interested to upgrade to the 5.0L and you could be in for a good deal.

there is one or 2 5.0 SC around for not much more (about R499k / GBP32k) than what they advertised my car for - i will be prepared to pay in the difference because it will bring me a lot closer to that price than if i had to do it using my old 2004 FFRR. this is an example of what I'm talking about:

http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-cars/land...ange-rover

on the one hand i hope they do get a buyer for the above reasons; however if not its not a train smash as the car i got is in quite good condition with only 90k kms on the clock.

Yours is a great looking car and the 4.2 SC is a very nice drive but for having driven both I must say the 5.0 is really a step up.

Having driven both L322 SC the 4.2 and 5.0 , i would say the step-up is almost same as the one you felt from the BMW to th SC . not very much in terms of added power , but certainly in terms of handling , suspension .
So you corner faster and flatter with the 5.0 at sensibly higher speed than the 4.2 SC .

But that's just fine , it will give you a goal to reach for the next years ... getting a 5.0 . Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Jaybear
