Anyone changed their winter tyres yet?

Can't believe it. The first time I've splashed out for winter tyres and I don't think we've seen so much as snow flake in the NW.

So, has anyone already changed back to normal tyres yet, or are we expecting a last minute winter/spring spate of snow?

That's a good point. Will hold off until the end of the month then.

True Very Happy

I do a fair bit of driving, so I guess knowing that I had an extra degree of safety in case I was caught out in poor conditions at some point was always good to know too.

Will keep mine on until my trip to the UK - beginning of April. They saw plenty of snow this season, but only when in the mountains for skiing. Been very mild this winter even here in Switzerland.

Actually the 7 degrees thing is the average temperature for the day. For most tyres there is a cross over point where between 10-15 degrees there's no difference between the compounds (tread not taken into consideration) used for summer and winter tyres. Even in the summer months a premium winter tyre will stop better than a budget summer tyre. This is usually down to the casing and tread patterns rather than the silica content.
