cheers stan, my TDV8 has 330BHP and nearly 800Nm of torques and I have been timed at 7.5 secs to 60, not bad for an old oil burner!!

Stan, a pedantic person would say that the 4.2 SC is actually 396bhp, but clearly, that's not me. All , we are trying to help GG get the best FFRR for him, arguing about BHP and torque wont help in the real world, my view is that based on his location, journey length, etc. an SC would be the best bet. Most of us live in an area where we do mid/long journeys where maybe a TDV8 would be good, I personally believe the best is an SC, INHO |

No green eyed monsters here guys. I use the torque for effortless towing. Petrol engines even powerful ones are not as good as diesel ones for this in my opinion. I've had more cars with powerful engines than I can shake a stick at and by that I mean over 600bhp powerful!! It's great fun but, been there done that an over the moon with my lovely TDV8.

Blah blah blah effortless towing blah blah blah. I've never had an issue towing with my SC and I've pulled Disco 3's out of lakes at pay and play sites in the mud. Anything from the BMW 4.4 upwards in a RR is enough to tow without issues, the TD6 was the only engine that could be considered a bit underpowered.
