With the pin in it is like towing with an eye and pin hitch, main dealer said there was a modification to the drop plate which included the bolt.

New drop plate and bolt, no more noise.

OK here is what the trip computer shows for my run north, started on Wednesday afternoon from LPR and stopped overnight at the Premier Inn (I know not the usual haunt of FFRR owners!) J1 M6 at Rugby and then had a disastrous run north with delays - over an hour at Charnock Richard and then further north another smash reduced the motorway to one carriageway with very slow moving traffic at both sections - the car is now home in Scotland.
Ave speed, pitiful............................

Oh how correct you are Tim - got it on very very good authority the new engine will be in the RRS next year with some added trick bits

Was gonna change the RRS but gonna wait now  "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

What's trick about magnetic ride instead of air-susupension? Audi have been using it for 2-3 years in their cars! You know, the more I look at fairly new 2nd hand FFRRs, the more I like the 2010 Vogue/SE facelift in Stornoway Grey.
It just seems to go very well with the grill, vents and door handles.
Not too 'in your face'. It just looks 'right'.
