HELP :( this is doing my head in

Ok hopefully someone can shed some light onto this....

For a while I've been having a intermittent problem with my 2003 td6 full fat , Id get the HDC /air sus / and abs lights com on and it stays on but has no other problems (sometime feels there's a lack of power ) but other times it comes on and the left rear brake keeps applying itself on and off as if it was the abs kicking in and the car will hardly move ,I lost the speedo once too so I changed the abs sensor , worked fine for a few weeks then fault came back again , replaced it again and again fault disappeared for a few weeks , ebay special so could this be the problem ? buy a land rover one at 5 times the price Sad ,Sometimes i lose drive in the auto position and the the transfer box light is flashing and i end up having to go into the manual and just let the car move under idle .
I've purchased the ID tool and get the fault 95 Can bus wheel speed signal fault and when i plug in the RSW software i get from transfer box fault code error Noise on Actuator (0x5223 ) and Encoder signal error (0x52f1)and on the Transmission a error of CAN bus speed signal fault general error ...

PLEASE HELP as i love this car but im getting real sick of the problems with it.

Possible one of the problems is with the speedo sensor which from memory is on one of the rear wheels. Worth a search.
Could have something to do with the rear caliper problems too. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had a similar issue, but no gearbox stuff. Was fine, then all the dash lit up with no speedo signal, no hdc, abs etc etc.

The rear left wheel sensor feeds the speedo, so my car thought it was not moving, so steering went really light, as the servotronic system should do when stationary.

As it's not getting a valid signal from one wheel, it shuts the systems down. Drove fine though.

The following morning, when I set off, the car would only go at walking pace and the abs was pulsing. If I tried to accelerate, the car would actually slow down and pump abs and wind the engine power back.

This was because the speedo said zero, so as it got a moving signal from the 3 working wheels, it thought they were spinning so activated abs. This didn't do much so the car then thinks, I'll have to reduce engine power then.... Hence no forward motion in driven gears.

The solution for me - it went away on a low loader and the issue was the reluctor ring on the driveshaft on the rear left wheel. It had rusted up and been snapped and come loose. This is the ring that the abs sensor gets it's pulses from, so changing the sensor won't really help.

I had to buy a complete new driveshaft so the full bill was a bit silly. Sure it was about £600 all in, as the garage had real issues getting the old studs out.

You can see the reluctor rings if you get under the car.

Could be that, or yours is broke but not come adrift yet.........?

Have a look at my thread about it here ;

Useful link at the end where you may be able to get the ring on its own. Was too late for me though.

That is, of course, if you find that's one of your issues.

Sounds very similar symptoms to me....
