There are 2 (or 3?) pairs wires going from the 54 pin connector to the BM radio module - check the wiring diagrams in the RAVE. Unplug both the 54 pin connector and the BM connector and check for a connection with a continuity tester.

I was pretty careful repinning the 54 pin plug but will recheck tomorrow.

Checked all the wiring and it was correct according to the re-pin charts.

I thought the rewire would involve me soldering all the pins together, followed by me setting fire to the car.....

The problem is that i don't have the 54 pin connector to the white block adaptor.

The white block is in the back and the 2 connectors, one under the cup holder in front of the centre console and in the roof lining are all there.

If it were me, I'd just connect the x5 loom into the white plug in the boot to get the 54 pin connector. I'd use nothing else from it, if indeed there is more loom with it.
