would it not just be a case of piggy backing an ign controlled fuse supply, adding a further fuse, connecting to a 12v cigar lighter, plug in a 12v phone charger lead, and tuck it all away? and perhaps modify an iphone stand-up charger, or dedicated slide in car mount charger... -Or, if you get yourself a Bluetooth kit, you also get an iphone cable to run your phone. I have a parrot (Bluetooth). but I don't actually use the iphone lead,as I just auto connect Bluetooth-ly. and play my tunes Bluetooth through the stereo. at the expense of voice directions from satnav. though screen is pointing still . I hope to investigate this Bluetooth/iphone/satnav auto changeover circuit one day. is this what you had in mind? |

I currently connect with Bluetooth and a std apple lead to the power out in the centre cubby box with a belkin USB output, I just thought if the standard phone mount could be hacked into it might give a neater solution and greater functionality? |

I assume that through the phone dock is the only way to get the contacts up on the screen and to get text messages? |

An updated Bluetooth module should give you contacts on the screen via the Bluetooth. I have a Brodit mount and just run a cable from the front cig lighter. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t
