Door lock

I have a problem with the drivers door lock on my 06 TDV8, it unlocks from the fob as normal, then auto locks when you move off, when you stop it makes to unlock (you hear a clunk) but the button doesn't pop up? If you pull the internal release handle you need two pulls to open the door and then it is ok?

Mine has autolock. The way it works is that once you get going it locks all doors and the tailgate. When you stop all doors and tailgate stay locked. To open all doors either push the open door button on the dash (next to the hazard lights switch) or use the key fob. To open an individual door double pull the door handle. 2012 5.0L S/C

Not sure if it's the same as my earlier car, but mine auto locks at 10mph and stays locked. Along with all the other doors.

To get out the car, you either have to press the central locking button on the dash or pull the door handle twice. The first pull unlocks the door, and the second pull opens it.

I get sick of telling people not to pull like almighty God on the door handle when the can't get out as they have only unlocked the door.

That I believe is how it is supposed to operate.

So the only problem you seem to have is when it tries to unlock when you stop but doesn't. Not had this myself, but could be a slightly bent rod in the door or need a bit if a clean inside the mechanism in the door. Perhaps the rod with the button on is not exactly lined up with the hole in the interior trim ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yes, all sounds like normal operation except the bit where it tries to unlock when you stop, but doesn't succeed.

Doesn't do that on mine. Just stays locked. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yep, I asked this question when I moved from a BMW E60, which DID unlock when you switched of the engine.

I guess LR decided to code the ECU differently to provide "added security". Would be nice to have the option to unlock at swicth off, but.............. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

The funny thing is, you could have an 06 FF and an 06 plate D3 and the features work entirely different to each other... The auto locking on a D3 auto unlocks when you remove the ignition key, doesn't auto unlock at all on a FF (rubbish feature imho) so you land up having to press the unlock button every time you exit the car! Rolling Eyes
Auto wiper's work um Whistle "automatically" on a D3, again on a FF you have to switch them off (if left in the auto position from last trip) and back on again , for them to function! Rolling Eyes

Yikes! Mad Banging Head Wink
