Stu

Why a scissor jack when you can get a tidy Bottle jack and be sure that it will work. Question

I would rather be safe mate than go for original.
Censored the scissor off and get a good bottle jack. 50 quid will buy you the right jack.
There are some posts on here regarding the jack Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

I'm glad the wheel was still attached to the car when it failed

The Mercedes Sprinter bottle jack is a brilliant piece of kit for the RR and can be had for a bargain.

The below advert is the place where I (& many forum members I think got theirs). I got mine for £20 cash as I was able to collect from Bolton,Lancs. The price has since gone up to £47 delivered but it's still a bargain from a reliable seller because these jacks are normally about £180.

Here too is the BMW jack adaptor that is advisable to use with this jack for the RR (search for "bottle jack modification" on the forum and you'll see how to use the BMW adaptor with the Sprinter jack):

I really MUST do something about a decent jack.......

As totally brilliant as this forum is, when I last read up about the jack solution there were so many opinions and views that I got a bit confused and it ended up going in the "too difficult" pot and I did nothing! Neutral

So in summary if I order this:-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-TON-HYDRAULI...0386983165

And also this:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-MINI-JACK-AD...0395954085

I have everything I need. Correct? 2006 4.2 SC

@T24RES - I think the thing is that many seasoned RR owners (I'm not seasoned!) don't trust the "factory" RR scissor jack feeling that it's simply not good enough to support the heavy car that it is supposedly designed for. Hence, the Mercedes Sprinter bottle jack was found by a forum member to be a good alternative mobile/ practical store it in the car option.

As Stan said earlier, it's good practice to have one of each and now... I use the Sprinter jack as the main jack, following which I position the factory scissor jack under the given axle as a bomb proof back up plan.

Thumbs Up

I replaced mine because it collapsed a couple of years ago. I would only use it now in an emergency with extreme caution.

However the OP was after an original, i bought one from Dan at Duckworths for around £20. Ian
