The FFRR plays CDs just fine. Tried a CD with mp3 tracks and it refused to play. (Owners Manual says it will play.). Any tricks, pointers, tips on how to make an mp3 CD acceptable to his nibs, the car? Much thanks.

Some mp3 CD burning tips:

1. Use only branded CDR (write once) media (don't use CD-RW)
2. Reduce burning speed to between 4 and 12 times
3. Don't use overburn/burnproof i.e. keep within the listed capacity of the CDR
4. Burn a flat CD, e.g. all mp3 in root of CD, no folders
5. Remove all spaces in file names .

Any advice on the best software to use to burn MP3 cds for use in the Range Rover.

I have been using iTunes and have had no joy. CD player in the car just says incorrect disc although the discs work fine in computers.

I think you need to 'finalise' the disc (makes it so no more data can be written to the disc) for it to be played in a CD player - computers aren't bothered whether the disc is 'finaliased' or not... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

I think the issue is in the RR you can only have 1 level of files on the cd. With iTunes you get at least three levels of files Artist, Album & Song Title.

I have found a way just using Windows Explorer in Windows 7. Put a blank cd in computer and copy & paste the MPs files you want to burn. Takes ages removing the song number and removing the spaces from the track names unfortunately!

Use toast.

I avoid anything main stream due to digital foot prints etc. I have an imac not sure if it's around for a PC.

If you burn mp3 songs onto a CDROM, it will NOT play. You need to make sure you are creating an mp3 disc. I don't remember the actual settings, but check carefully through the burning options.

Correct mp3 disc do take slightly longer to load than regular CDs.
