United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

I didn't know LR made towing mirrors... We've been struggling to find decent ones.

What are these like? Is there any way of them damaging the colour coded mirrors on the FF? Any pictures of them fitted?

Regards

Hi David,

Sorry no pictures as yet..... Sad

They seem ok. I generally have problems with 'mirrors' per se - they never really seem secure. I have tried the Milenco mirrors on my Disco 4. They were good, with the trick being not to over-tighten them! (That said, I then 'lost' one on a motorway in Holland whilst in my Defender!) Shocked

The Range Rover mirrors seem secure and there is a thick rubber padding to protect the paintwork - however, part of the hard plastic 'band' is in contact with the paint and an adjustment or time in transit will tell how they fare,

Andy

David,

When I was looking for LR towing mirrors, they looked to me to be re-badged Reich "Handy" XL mirrors which are £22.50 each at www.caravan-components.co.uk. Although the LR mirrors come in a zipped bag. I have used the Reich mirrors for over 2k miles now with no problems, although they are awkward to fit first time around. 2021 L405 Westminster P400e

I use the Suck and see mirrors when pulling the van, no issues in three years. Ian

Oh poo bags.........

Yes, warren 1712 - my mirrors look exactly the same as the Reich 'Handy' XL mirrors. Sad Sad Sad

Still, I will always have a Land Rover bag to sell on later in life for £70 odd pounds Embarassed

I didn't think FFRR had colour coded paint on mirrors!! they are deliberately left in black plastic so that when you scuff them on hedges etc. the paint isn't damaged??? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

The suck it mirrors are fine on smooth roads like M ways but I found they came off on bumpy roads, and we have a lot of them up here.

Not nice having the mirror battering the side of the car on its little elastic string.

Now use Milenco.

If it's that bumpy I wouldn't want to drag my caravan along it Whistle Ian

Thanks guys.

Will have a look and see whats what.

The late models had colour coded mirrors.

I had the Milenco Grand Aero mirrors for my D4 and they were ok, quite a bit of vibration tbh but worked. They won't fit the mirrors on the FFRR comfortably so I've ordered some of the suck it and see ones. They have the added advantage of being remotely adjustable, which for me is a boon considering I sometimes have to set up alone and go back for the wife when she finishes work. Used to be a pain getting the NS mirror set up correctly. I'm sure given two clean surfaces that the sucker method would be fine.
I do have a surround camera system on the caravan (Trailervision Omni View 360) which is a wireless system. Signal has never dropped out and the image is clear as a bell. The mirrors are there to stop the Police from pulling me over and asking why I don't have any.
