Supercharged Coolant pump

Hi Gents, after doing a fair bit if reading on here. I'm getting the reduced engine performance message this only appears after probably an hour of driving (sort of 80ish) it pops up. But if I sit at 70 it's happy all day long and the message doesn't show. This has happened a couple of times now.

The question is from reading up the supercharger coolant pump maybe wired backwards. And the remedy is to switch the wiring and install a new pump. How can I tell if it is wired backwards though?

Also I've read up about the same problem with the Aux coolant pump does this need to be done as well.

Thanks again

Dave. The difference between theory and reality is that in theory it will work.

But how would you know if all the issues "have" been dealt with ?.

Yep as suspected my vin falls within the affected models. Will get a new pump ordered and the pins swapped to be on safe side.

Will the cooling system self bleed on these after I have fitted the new pump and topped up the coolant or is there a bleed screw?

Thanks again The difference between theory and reality is that in theory it will work.

in most cases just repinning the connector to the correct orientation will sort out the issue

ie the pump will run in the correct direction - its been running backwards since the car was assembled without much issue , if you continue to get the limited performance message - get a new pump

you lose very little fluid , but there is a black bleed screw on the expansion tank if needed , just open a turn or so and run until up to temp and then close it back in when happy.

LR should have recalled effected cars IMO and sorted the issue out (was told by LR mine had no outstanding recall work needed so assume this item wasn't recalled)

Just an update. I've replaced my aux coolant for a genuine Bosch one. The wiring was also the wrong way round on mine as per technical bulletin. It was a pretty straight forward job and only took around an hour.

Been using her for a couple of weeks now and she is running great.

Thsnks for the info
