My first Rangie was a 1983 phase 1 four door with the 4 speed manual. That thing was a beast and was very reliable. That was followed by a 1988 highline which now has about 400,000km on it. There is nothing like the v8 burble of the classic Rangies. My p38 and supercharged don't sound anywhere as good. 2015 RR Supercharged - Aintree Green

Had an old two door classic in Dubai in 1980 which we used for towing a speedboat and for desert driving. Great fun. Taught my girlfriend (now wife) to drive in that in the desert. Not a car for miles for her to bump in to!

I have owned a 3.5 V8 EFI Vogue, last of the 3.5's and it was a fantastically reliable car, only major problem I had with it was the gearbox had a couple of dodgy valves in it and wouldn't change into top gear. I have also owned Disco 1 and 2 a TD6 and now the TDV8. I know this is the kiss of death, but they have all been fantastic. I firmly believe, if you look after them they will look after you. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

First Rangie was a 1984 3 door manual V8 Rangie. Loved it.

Sadly no classic here but went Disco 1.I've had 3 of them 2 x 300tdi and 3.9 v8, which I still have and owned 14 years, sometimes wish I had got the last of the true classic, soft dash, but in essence the D1 is only a rebodyed RR If it dont work.......burn it!

That rolled Classic looks like it came out pretty well. Still has a good amount of headroom. |

we had a 1989 3.9 for a few years, with the kids in nappies. it was a great car. the kids would drive it on my lap. up grass banks. I looked after it for about 50k miles, but it plummeted in value sharply, and had wheelarch rust issues coming through, and its swan-song, was as a rubbish cart-horse, during a (to me) massive building project, carting heaps or rubble and materials, with seats in rear out, and concrete blocks resting against the windows and door panels.... it was her final days. as its MOT loomed it was 'caned' till it's arse bled! without its MOT it was going to be a sad day, and I sold her for off roading, like gifting an old horse to the sanctury.....I remember fondly trying to get it to semi- roll at a favourite roundabout left turn. it was quite quick with its torquey replaced camshaft.
