Looks amazing, I'd like to find someone my way to do mine......once this weather improves!

I've always used Wonder Wheels on my alloys and find that works well, anyone got any views on that?

Peejay.
In the past I have used Iron -X to remove the brake dust/iron particles from the wheels followed by a bit of Tardis to remove the bits of road tar etc you accumulate, then used a clay bar followed by wheel sealant and the 2 coats of FK1000P wax.

It takes a long time, it lasts you months and your wheels become very easy to clean. There are lots of similar products out there. Take a peek at the detailing world forum for advice.

Now my wheels are as black as my Java paintwork, covered in salt and sand but I've learnt to live without clean wheels. It's the roof of the Rangie that troubles me now Big Cry Travelling around in circles again.

Hi Peejay,
I do this for a living so feel reticent in endorsing products on a public forum but what I can say is this:-
If you are enthusiast and take a lot of time caring for your care yourself then find the gentlest product you can for that specific job, check the MSDS sheets if you can for any product.
As a detailer I am fully aware that enthusiasts don't need our services each and every time they want there car cleaned but I am still very open with my clients in terms of advice, your local detailer should feel the same way, they should be willing to help, ask questions, advice should be free.
Be aware that as a sole user you don't have the opportunity to continually test products for one specific task, when you find one that you are happy with not only in terms of performance but also safety then maybe stick with it, sorry if that sounds patronising, it is not meant to.
Finally, stick to the manufacturers directions, so many times I've seen people trying to ladle on wax and suchlike only to find they cant get the stuff off, when it says "use sparingly" then please do so but just apply more times to build up.
Again I apologise if I sound patronising, I really don't mean to but just trying to be helpful, if anyone needs advice please feel free to contact me

Re: Car in for detailing (A few pics)

[quoteAs i'm away for a few days i thought it an ideal opportunity to get the new beastie in for a proper clean.
Its going into a member of the forum. Joncardiff.
He's going to do the works on it for me. It will take 3 days to complete.

Just got it back and what a very nice job Jon has done.
I'm hoping he will post what he's done, but it took him 26+ hours

Just to let you know Jason that I'm back from Holland and now offering the XPEL Paint Protection here in Wales
