Factory Xmas Working

Hi
This may seem like a strange question but I wanted to see if anybody knows if the factory closes over the festive period?
My order went into production on 22nd December and I was curious as to how they work over the holidays?
Thanks

As there are no replies so far, I thought you would be pleased to hear that my dealer called today, confirming that the Vogue SE 14.5MY was built yesterday. Now await delivery date. Razz

Looks as if the answer is yes to Christmas working. Remembering how old Longbridge and industry generally used to operate in the UK, then a global supplier can never sleep. At least some things have improved!!! Thumbs Up

Were you expecting it to be built around now or is it ahead of schedule? I ask because mine was due to be built at the beginning if March and I would rather it didn't come early. I had better check on Monday!

Thanks for your responses. I assume the factory was open over the holidays as I was informed my car was finished on Saturday and it arrived at the dealership on Monday. Just waiting for the body shop to open for my colour coding to be done. Hopefully should be able to take delivery at the end of next week! Smile

5.0, In respect of delivery times I placed my original order on 19th September and it was built on 27th November (the actual build date I was originally given) although it was built with the wrong engine. A new order was placed 28th November with a build date of 2nd January and it was actually built on 27th December.

Hopefully I will be able to enjoy it next week!
Very Happy

Hi 5.0

Well, this is a moot point. I reckon it to be about three to four weeks early.

Mid Feb. was a rough target ready for the new 14 plate, but Jan. will be ok, as it is a 2014 without the 'badge'.

Might be a small gap on trade-in three years hence, but early delivery will avoid the new plate rush and give the dealer adequate time for a proper PDI (hopefully) and to fit the extras. It's SDV8, so may be brought forward into a unit production run.

Perhaps they really are going to drop the V8 early and want to use them up pre-2015? Whistle

I ordered the split back rest front seats and style 9 alloys which aren't meant to be available until March so I doubt if mine will be early too but I had better check. Thumbs Up

Hi
I have had all the lower trims(doors& bumpers) lower front and back plates that cover the towing section and the centre of the front bumper, bonnet grill(just under the windscreen) and the front grill surround colour coded. It took 3 days and cost me £1400.
I looks stunning!
Thanks
