Speaker woes

The lower rear door speakers are not working in my 06MY RR it has the HK Logic 7 Premium setup, I have done some research and initially thought it was water in the amp (XQK500105), I have been in the boot had the amp out and everything is bone dry no hint of any water ingress. Thumbs Up
Today I changed the amp over for one that was tested to be working and still the lower rear door speakers aren't working so I put the original amp back in and put it all back together Sad
I am a bit OCD with things not working as they should but I don't really no where else to look in the basic diagram in RAVE it shows the bottom speakers feeding off the top but I'm not sure how accurate this is Crying or Very sad

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you either remove the speaker and wire directly to the amp or run some cable across the back seat directly from amp to in situ speaker. This would tell you if it was the speaker or some wiring issue.

I have now fixed the original speakers, and all is well for the moment Whistle

The braid that runs from the terminals to the cone had broken and so there was no current going in, just de-soldered and then re-soldered the braids on both speakers and jobs a good un Thumbs Up 2005 Range Rover Vogue with Supercharged Accessories

I'd say that's a good result there then.

Thumbs Up

Don't think the speakers are expensive to replace, it seems finding out what's actually faulty is the hard bit. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The speakers aren't too expensive, it's finding the right ones that is a pain. I've now got a pair of XQM500300's that I thought would fit that will be going back on ebay along with the amp I bought that I didn't need!

Should have had the brainwave 3 weeks ago would have saved me a few quid Embarassed 2005 Range Rover Vogue with Supercharged Accessories

This is a job I am going to tackle today. The rear passenger door speakers have never worked since buying the car. After reading this post I am hoping it's something similar as I always thought it an amp fault and not worth the hassle. Did you have to remove the door card to test the speakers ie: access the terminals ?

I have a similar problem... They work but work bad! They make noise and distort the sound.

I think is the speakers that are faulty! But could be the Amplifier that is faulty? Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

this may sound really dumb. but first check that they are not 'faded' out on the display!

In fact mine are faded out - deliberately, as like goncalo, they make a horrible throbbing sound but only on the LH side. I have had another look and it appears the door card has to come off to get to the wiring. Does yours have DSP goncalo ?

Yes my have DSP! And is also just in one side as yours!

And i think when i change the balance or front rear is also something wrong.

I though it was my speaker that is faulty because it happens more when it is loud and when the musica has strong basses, the speaker make distortion. Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

Took off the door card, tested the speakers - ok. Also checked and cleaned both the black ecu and the silver ecu multiplugs that sit next to the bluetooth module in the boot, I guess one of these is the amp. Still no joy. I wish it had been blown speakers but looks like something more expensive. I have emailed Baris to see whats next. But at least meantime I have unplugged the noisy speakers and I now can fade in the rear to have 10 out of 12 blasting some music.

Baris has replied asking me to send him the part & he will see what he can do. I have still to find out what & where is the part that he wants but will keep you posted. From what you have said, it does sound like its worth checking your speakers if its a distorted sound you are getting. If I do end up getting the amp/DSP unit repaired I am also going to get the sound upgraded as per mjdronfields posts recently.

Sorry for the late reply, only just got in from work, I ended up taking the speakers out and testing them.

It was a real "lightbulb" moment when I tried it, also my FF is running a Logic7 Premium setup which I initially thought was the amp playing up.
