before concluding the deal, check the terms of your annual licence agreement and how long is left to run on it with a unit which is several years old, and when you are expected to upgrade again to a new unit |

I have bricks and mortar holiday homes. OK, costs to buy are higher and upkeep isn't cheap, BUT rental costs can be £250-£400 a week ! Plus, eventually, (like 25 years) they'll appreciated in value. All a caravan does is depreciate from the moment you step inside. I have apartments in Majorca and Tenerife and also a house in Tenerife - its approx 7 hours door to door at £200 flight costs and sunshine all year round (Tenerife)

I had both. A lovely static near Aberdyfi in Wales and a 26 footer Tintent.

We have had seasonal tourers on the same site for many years, 3 years ago sold tintent and bought a motorhome, only kept it 12 months and then bought a static on the original site and thoroughly enjoyed the last 2 years spending quite a lot of time there, but while we enjoyed spending lots of time there we missed going elsewhere, also lots of people with statics go away for holidays either in the season or winter so we thought we would buy another tintent and hopefully have the best of both worlds. |

We bought the tint ent so that we could travel Europe with our 3 kids and show them the different countries rather than just arrive at different airports which would mean nothing to them.

Its tempting when at the site but I think if you reflect for a month you will decide its not a good investment. |

I know it's not an investment Gaz. That's the thing though - it's not bought for that reason, it's to enjoy our free time in. That alone makes it worth it in my opinion.

The fact that your feeling the need to bounce this off a few of the chaps means your far from sold on the idea ?

^^^ as they said you want something different than the tourer but not sure what. The static will be very nice but the reality is they are a money pit. We wanted a change from touring and thought about lots of options before buying in France. Know what you are saying about the job my holiday home is a relief from the stress of my job and its nice to just arrive and put the kettle on without the faf of pitching up. Think maybe it needs a lot of thought but I think we all want you to be happy with what u decide Mine was a blue one! |

My question was, whether to sell or keep the tourer. We are buying the static- no question about that. I was just wondering if anyone here had both because on other forums it seems to be either/or. |

If you like the place, then sell the tourer
