Hi have seen that post but this 'click' has only started since I changed the battery.

I would concentrate on the possibility of a bad connection to the battery, either one or both terminals.

My old TDV8 used to do that. In the end it turned out to be a dodgy solenoid on the side of the starter. For expediency I got the starter refurbished by a place in Birmingham. they did it while I waited and it cost me 60 quid. Was fine after that.

Will try the copper surround to terminals first.

I had a similar click problem, but it was hardly a click at all, it turned out that although the neg battery terminal was tight, it wasn't bedded down on the post properly, so looking at it now it has about 3mm of post coming out the top, I then tapped down the posi too to make sure. the terminal was tight on the spanner but not holding with enough force to carry the amps. it went iffy if a had the headlamps on or had been leaving ign on for about 15 mins etc.
