Got to be honest, I've only just got mine activated. When it does run, the windows will defrost but I wouldn't say it's warm in the cabin when I get in. The inside of the windscreen has lots of condensation which defeats the object of defrosting the window.
Is it supposed to get really warm in the cabin?

Hi Noddy,
If you check the RAVE on the FBH / Park Heat description, you'll see that there is an additional water valve that closes for a period when park heat is run: this is to warm the large interior of the RR before the motor gets tossed into the loop. By simply activating park heat on our RRs, we are warming the motor from the beginning. If you let the FBH run a full 1/2 hr, it should be quite warm in the car (I don't know if I'd call it toasty, tho). A short run on a cold day will not warm the car significantly. But it gets really warm really quickly when you start the motor because the motor is already nearly warm.

There should not be a significant amount of condensation in the vehicle. Either it is typically Brit weather and you are getting in and out with very wet clothes often or you have a source of moisture somewhere - as in leak.

Also, do as DanUK1984 always said: run the AC all the time (and make sure recirculate air is off or an auto but open).

It's only started fogging up since I cleaned the inside of the windscreen with anti-fog window cleaner weirdly!

French Mike FBH PCB

Hi all,
THis is my first post since joining FFRR. I have spent many a night reading posts on topics I needed questions answered and so far with my first 08 TDV8 i have got working the rear wash wipe, sorted EPB issues, replaced bulbs in dash. Little things I know but would not have known where to start without the help of members posts.
so now i am onto FBH repair. Mine does not work, fans only when remote is pressed. I have the controls set, battery charged enough fuel etc etc…… so suspect the FBH pcb.
Want to send French Mike my board, can anyone help, and message me with his details. Many thanks in advance,

GT

Surprise, surprise Mike has found two failed resistors and has made the repair.

Can't imagine how many FBH units have been scrapped with this known fault.

Pm on its way GT

Hi guys, can someone be so kind as to let me have the address of the company repairing FBH in France.
I had related my story in another thread before Xmas. My car has been at the local dealer, replaced the FBH under partial warranty from Land Rover (they pay 50% of the repair) but the FBH still doesn't produce any heat.
In total they've had the car for 6 weeks now (one month before Xmas and two weeks since I'm back in the South of France) and they still can't find the problem. I was thinking they could use some advice from this specialized company.

CSK.

He is not a specialised company, more so a clever guy who worked out a manufacturing fault on the FBH.
If the FBH has been changed then maybe they should be looking at the fuel pump.

Thanks Paul, just called the stealer who says he replaced the pump and he says it is working now but I won't be able to test it myself as they are now sourcing the DVD player problem (DVD stopping and restarting from time to time). I hope to get my car back soon as I do miss it!

Well I thought they sorted it out but I called the dealer today and they tested the FBH the last 3 days and the cabin was hot on Monday and Tuesday morning but this morning it didn't give any heat again! Very frustrating! They replaced the FBH and the fuel pump and tested the electronic bit but it stopped giving any heat again. They reported all this to Land Rover and are awaiting instructions. Starting to think to ask them to leave as is as I'm getting fed up not having my car on the other hand I'd like it sorted! Evil or Very Mad

Probably didn't run it for the full cycle .... Whistle

Assuming that everyone knows the change over valve doesn't operate until around 15 mins in meaning heater matrix gets no hot water until then.

Apparently they did. They switched it on and checked after 30 min. Two first days it was warm, third it was not. Go figure!
