A Main Dealer repair means nothing. A lot of dealers simply farm the work out to a local bodyshop so unless the place happens to be good you will still get a lousy repair.

I did not have to remove anything to fit them on the lip near the rear door arch. There was nothing there on mine, the bit that attempted to cover it was attached to the rear door arch, on the actual door, and was smooth rubber and rather thin. It's still there on mine, and just covers over the extra ones I've added to the lip itself, as in my pic above.

What would everyone suggest the best way to repair the rusty arches would be short of a new quarter or wheel arch? |

Did the same with mine, once I sorted out the rust, got my rubber trims off an old rover 414 from the scrappies for a quid a piece, seems to be the way to go, I also packed the rubber trim with grease before fitting and wiped off the excess

It's what tends to be used underneath and is thicker and more rubber like. If painted over, tends to look like a hamerite type finish, so not factory. Have a look on google for images. Classic car restorers tend to use it under wheel arches, but we have the plastic liners. It's supposed to resist being chipped by stones, hence the name I think. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

cheers for stroking my feathers pld118, lol, its a simple if not time consuming job, I was lucky and mine looked worse than it was, no perforation, although I did have to skim fill part of it due to the pitting, as you said, for paul, I think most of the info is in the thread for my rr, you need to take the sill covers/ wheel arch inners off to do a proper job, and side steps too if fitted 2003 ffrr v8 vogue |

Should be repairable either way under LR paint/anti corrosion warranty. If unhappy with the job done by original md find out if they have a recommended body shop In the area, take it there and get them to approve the repair direct with LR. As the car is au and within 6 years anti corrosion warranty should get done!

Cheers chaps. I served my time as a panel beater so I'll manage the repair.

paul if you look at my range rover section, the items I used are on there, which I got under recommendation, and they seem to work well, biggest problem I had was the weather doing it on the drive, especially the day it started to rain on my topcoat lol 2003 ffrr v8 vogue |
