Will do wedge, fingers crossed it turns out ok, the fitter is pretty old school, I have every faith! We'll see tomorrow if i'm happy or greetin.

UPDATE:
Since the last post on here I've change a few thing with my system! First I changed the pioneer double din for a much better Kenwood ddx6023bt

The main reason for this was the 3 RCA preouts (front, rear and sub)
Again the dash needed a little more modifying 

The amp rack was tidyed up a bit more

Now I'm working on a larger 12" sub enclosure a bit like this. Although I'll be using factory look carpet!

I don't like the look of double DIN units in place of the stock satnav head unit - and personally not having a knob to twist the volume down (or up) immediately would drive me nuts.

But this is simply my opinion. And if you are happy,

What are you doing with the computer functions (such as setting the clock)? MID in the glovebox? 
RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr,
P38, and 2 L322s
(wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too)

The cost of repairing the old system was rediculous.this seemed a more logical route to take. I now have an up to date satnav,DVD, Bluetooth connection, handsfree phone, mp3 and iPhone capabilities.volume etc is all connected to steering controls so no need for twisty knobs! Most of all I have 100 times better quality sound, I'll agree the double din fittments look small in the surround but it really is far far superior than a stock rr unit!
I haven't bothered with a mid unit in the glove box I just reconnect the battery a 12 o'clock to set the time! Which isn't really needed as it's on the double din! Mpg, range extra still works as normal!
Next idea is to fit an iPad mini to fill up the space rather than double din! But that's just an idea at the mo! 2004 range rover vogue

yep same unit but yours looks like yours has the later software on it

unit came with Sygic satnav but could never get it to register, so supplier sent a link to a tomtom program just loaded it onto a micro sd card and away it went
maps a bit out of date now but still works a treat and far better than the info center, well worth the effort well pleased with end result

I went through this with a Chinese version but it was very poor so sent it back. Was your unit a straight swap (plug n play affair) and was all the wiring supplied or did you have to make many mods or get it fitted by an audio specialist.

Does it sound good using the standard amp/dsp etc and do you have to do anything with your old HU to get it all to work.?

mine is a Chinese one,all works fine, sound system sounds good ,touch screen all ok
all i wanted was a unit that fitted the hole in the dash with a good satnav and did not look a bodge job
also i did not want to start cutting looms ect
i got a 5M radio loom that plugged into the radio box in the boot just had to find an aux live feed in the boot to connect new loom to
i also took the cd changer out of the glovebox and put the info screen in its place(i needed this to switch the amp on because its canbus operated ,clock settings and FBH timers)
not to everyone's taste but works well for me
