There is a very short time delay on the access button after the engine is stopped, not sure if the key still needs to be in with ignition off, got a feeling it will work for about 15 seconds after key removal as long as no doors have been opened. Discovery 4 HSE

I can turn my radie/cd etc on without the key, I just press the audio power button. It also appears to limit the volume level, presumably to reduce current draw on the battery. As for access button, with the ingniton off (but key still in) I think I have a few seconds to hit the button else nothing happens, but I always do it just prior to turning the ignition off and before anyone opens their doors as a rule. Suspension changes WILL not occur with an open door. Also all windows etc will cease to be powered after opening the doors.....

It was a comfort option on my 2006. I have it by default on my 2010 so I guess it's now standard. Land Rover Addict

Dan, how are you going to fit a pre heater? Isnt yours a petrol/LPG? As far as I know, you can only do this with diesel as its not flammable in the normal sense. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

The 4.4 Vogue had a pre-heater option and it's listed in microcat... You can run a wabco pre-heater on petrol no problem, just obviously need the correct model. I believe you can even convert a derv one but it's a lot of hastle. N e hoo.... I'm going for an electrical option, similar to the Kenlowe hot start kit. Dan |
