Comports, you will confuse the OP by explaining the issues with your FF as its a PRE touchscreen and the OP's driving an SC so a post touchscreen model and therefore entirely different to your system/faults sir |

Glyn, open the boot and check the LHS compartment for water ingress. Usually runs down from the rubber boot seal failing/expanding in the top corners allowing damp in... You will need to check this thoroughly as when damp gets into the connectors/plugs it will start to grow green slime which corrodes the terminals and eventually they will snap off inside the plugs giving you intermittant problems/sound dropouts etc and will cost £££££ to change amps, ecu's, dvd players, BT units etc etc etc... Try wiggling the speaker input / output plugs on the top of the DSP.

Just noticed Craigs comment re possibly a Touchscreen you have if so My comments may not help you. It's the large black box rearmost in the LH rear side compartment. It has 3 plugs on the top of it, you want the rearmost plug and the front plug which have a load of speaker wires going into them. Be very gentle removing the plugs, the pins in the sockets on the DSP have a habit of corroding and breaking off. Picture below, Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |
