On main beam, my headlamps seem to flicker. At the top of the beam throw it flickers and moves around. This is only coming from the xenon bulb and only happens when on main beam. It's really noticeable and would probably fail an MOT.

Anyone experienced this / got any idea's??

I'm going to get it in to landrover next week if not.

Unfortunately, I think it will be your ballast resistor failing, which means a new headlight unit

I hope your right! It still has a month left on the warranty.... Headlights would be covered wouldn't they??

Yes, they should if its original manufacturers warranty - which yours is being 2007

Make sure they acknowledge the problem / cause - my dealership didn't think anything was wrong when the problem first started - (within warranty) the flickering wasn't that noticable at first, then denied all knowledge when it went pop! (out of warranty)

Not only did they want to charge full whack for a headlight unit - there was labour charges also explaining that the front end (bumper etc.) had to be striped to remove headlight!

They lied!...

I 'fixed' my light by buying replacement headlamp from eBay and swapping the boxes (after a short time this also developed a flicker)

In the end - I part exchanged the car back to the dealer (still with the problem )

The ballast resistor is the metal box which is fixed to the back of headlight unit (about the size of pack of cards) Despite being fixed in place with 3 Torx screws, LR insisted that this item is not available / sold seperately and you need to replace complete headlamp assembly.

Well it took 4 attempts at the dealers but finally got
Both headlamps changed today under warranty. Ive no doubt that if I hadn't kept banging on about ballast resistors they would have fobbed me off.
