Left the egr in place on mine, although i did remove it to clean all the carbon Censored out of it and made sure the valve was fully closed. Put it back on but left the vacuum tube off and blanked the end of it. Does the same as the removal kit but cost nothing Very Happy . '04 td6 se

On the plus side though, at least you wont have to clean all the Censored out of the egr. Thumbs Up '04 td6 se

Thought you may have found a shiny metal disc of suitable size to poke in the end of the exhaust gas inlet Confused

@ wats39, tried all that with mine, didn't make a blind bit of difference to mpg or performance, wonder if my valve wasn't properly closed, although it was one heck of a push to get it moving...... .

The valve should be closed when there is no vacuum Joe90 so yours must have been stuck open. Not surprising though with the amount of carbon you find in them. I gained around 2-3 mpg after disconnecting it. Also got peace of mind that the engine isnt breathing in all the carbon Censored too. Thumbs Up '04 td6 se

about 20/30 minutes done unrushed,,i used gum gum as that is well known for its reliability when it comes to blocking out exhaust fumes..
