Yes you may change the country. But it defaults back to France, and for £3.99 i expected better Wink

I can only get the original LR discs to work in mine, and was told by an Indy DVD repair/recon company that the copies
damage the laser optic thingy (sorry not very technical I know)
The DVD units are about £300 to service recon or on the bay about the same for a second hand unit Rolling Eyes
So £169 for genuine navteq disc don't seem so bad imo

DVD's break lasers? Er....<cough>

Someone is telling porkies - what can happen is you use cheap dual layer DVD's and they warp. Just make multiple backups or proper (TDK etc not Tesco) DVD's. Also backup at the lowest speed possible. Land Rover Addict

I have tried a few copies and only the original disc will read! Sad
So are you saying if I copy the copy with a good quality disc it should work, either that or maybe it is my DVD drive ??
thanks Thumbs Up

Yep - slowest speed possible and good quality backup discs Wink

If you are using Windows - Nero, alcohol or imageburn are the preferred tools.

If linux then pretty any of them work Whistle Land Rover Addict

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

Here in Australia if you need a new disc you are screwed Sad The map discs are produced by a set up called Where is and now that all Land rover sat nav's are HDD apart from the Freelander2 Land Rover Australia who do not do customer service at all will not authorise discs to be made :bulb:
Freelander disc won't work in FullFats Disco 3's or Sports and I have been quoted $1000 for a 2008 disc off a stealer.
Land Rover Australias attitude to its customers is staggering , once we have your money you can royally Censored off. Banging Head 2008 MY Supercharged

Banging Head and Censored is right. The newest discs we can get is the "2011-2012". Considering what they charge for the sat nav, the fact they won't issue update discs is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

I hope someone draws this to the attention of the JLR Customer Service guy. Whistle

It won't make any difference. If you still have CD navigation you won't find newer maps than 2003.
