Cant get the f@cking side light out!

2003 FF, passenger side side light is out and need to replace the bulb for the upcoming MOT, under the bonnet the winged nut that crews onto the threaded bar that holds the side light unit in place is siezed solid. Have soaked it with WD40, yanked, pulled and swore at it several times to no avail. Have decided only way to remove it is to cut the thread and pull it out, and buy a new side light (£60 new). Had a thought though, does the new units come with the threaded rod fitted to them, or do you keep and use the old one?

Dont want to buy a new unit only to find I still need a new threaded bar to fit to it to hold it in place Embarassed

Why not cut the 'winged nut' (plastic disc) off taking care not to cut into the threads and once you remove the lamp unit you will be able to clean up the threads and use a nut & washer to hold it in place...cost nothing Thumbs Up
