You can still buy short 5 digit plates on DVLA for peanuts compared to what dealers ask for them...

If you use any of the well known vendors such as Regtransfers, be prepared to part with around 20-25% in commission.

Thanks all. One of those national number plate companies has said they would sell it for £1000 and take a £200 fee for selling it but AFAIK, the prices they quote seem to be over inflated and not many seem to sell... |

Interestingly enough, I once saw a number I have on retention for sale on one of these sites. I enquired about it and was told it was for sale at twice the price I paid for it!
