CSK -
not sure if the same, my MY11 diesel will work <15
15 and above it vents.

are you sure it blows the full cycle on cold? is that because you have got into the car 15 minutes after starting the FBH with th blower working but blowing cold air?
or has the blower stopped, and it is still cold in the car.....perhaps with a dreaded battery low warning?

Stan - Thanks, yes I'll try at lower temperatures but as Rambles says the manual states that it should heat the interior below 15°C and vent at higher temperatures.
Rambles - Thanks for your reply. Woke up at 6.30 this morning, used the remote, heard the unit activate, the LED on the remote flashing green so it was clearly working, waited half an hour for the unit to switch itself off after the full cycle, unlocked the car, interior was cold. Called the stealer to complain, told me he couldn't look at the car before next year as they are fully booked until their Xmas and New Year break! Aargh!
They had the car in for one month (FBH problem, DVD player not working properly and fitting deployable sidesteps), it is very irritating when you get the car back, pay the big bill and return home to see the problem hasn't been fixed. Big Cry Stealer says they have tried the new FBH 3 times after they installed the new unit and it worked so I hope it is just not cold enough or I'll be back in the New Year making the stealer's life miserable (or the other way round!).

Norway 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver

Hi
I have some FBH issues as wel. The way I understand it on my td6 2003 I have the remote control and it works perfect as parking heater if following conditions are met.
Outside temp below 15 Celsius
Good battery
Pres the button on the remote and the led on the lower bottom of the nav display comes on and the interior ventilation starts
Simultaneous the FBH starts. [ alternatively I can select time on or aux heat on the nav screen when the ignition key is in position 1 ] if you take out the key or turn it in the off position the FBH starts including the interior vents.

Now as the engin is running ( and there is my problem) and it is below 5 Celsius then the FBH is suppose to kom on automatically on the TD6 wel on mine it does not ? When the engin is running you can select the aux heating when the temp outside is below 15 degrees.

The FBH itself has 2 connectors a 2 pole power connecter and a 6 pole where only pin 1,2 and 6 is used
pin 1 is the direct (hard wired ) signal that comes from eventually from the remote control
Pin 2 is the DATA connection wired to the k-bus signal.
Pin 6 is going to the fuel pump from the FBH .

So the FBH works in combination with the HEVAC and it is a challenge to find out where exactly the failiour is.

I still have hopes to figure this one out.

Hi Rambles, Yes it has done the full cycle as the system stopped after about 30 min.. I started the car only at the end of the morning but haven't driven it today and had no low battery warning. Didn't want to try again this evening as I thought switching the FBH on twice in a day with no driving would run the risk of ending up with a flat battery. I'll try the system next time I use the car for a reasonable distance.

was there any heat given out at any point in the 30 minutes?
could you hear the fuel pump ticking at all during the cycle?

I don't know as I wasn't actually in the car. But when I checked the air blowing out was cold. I should think mine works on petrol. Couldn't hear any ticking noise either, from outside I could hear the unit (driver's side, on my LHD, somewhere near the side vent), like a blower but no ticking noise.

well if you dont want to know what happens so you can describe it to the dealer.....
if you were not in the car, how do you know it was not at some point blowing out warm air and then stopped?
if their is no fuel pump ticking then no fuel is going to the FBH

i made the effort and sat in my car to see what it would do when i had problems.......

Hi Rambles, I'll check when I intend to use the car for some distance as it is not my only car and don't think trying the Timed Climate Control twice without using the car is a good idea as I will probably not be able to start the car after that. Thanks for your input, will definitely try and let you know.

Sorry to hi jack, but about to get my 08 TDV8 and asked the dealer (not MD) if there was a remote fob for the heater. He said no. Just wondered if it was lost by previous owner, how would I know if it was/wasn't fitted originally? Would like to get a replacement fob if it is fitted.

Hi Rambles, I do have a battery charger but wasn't aware this was a compulsory purchase when buying a Range Rover and never needed one before even though I'm on my fourth Range Rover! Maybe I was just lucky. Smile
Anyway I did try but it was blowing only cold air all the time so I think I'll just hand it over to the dealer when I'm back from Switzerland and let them sort that out as I paid for a new unit (50% of which was paid by Land Rover) and it is still not working. I think they should figure out why it is still not working.
Van Diesel - You should first check if your car has the FBH option fitted, if it has you should be able to operate it from your nav screen (there are timers you can program), if it has you can order the remote or insist your dealer provides one included in the price. Smile

I would suspect the HEVAC module if this is not giving the right message to the FBH it will not run but the ventilation would come one .
