Big Engine Problem

I had an issue with my 2004 RR Vogue 75,000 miles. It suddenly started to kick out loads of white smoke,
So I did some DIY checks and replaced the MAF and PCV system but it was still happening, so it went to a garage.

They convinced me it was the H/G.

They wouldn't strip down the engine, but the did take it out for me to send away. I sent it to Engine Engineering in Glasgow who did a full strip down and rebuild.

Once the engine was back it was installed only to find it was still missing on number 1 and still pouring white smoke out the back. An auto electrician pin tested the edu and all the wires to the coil packs and said there is nothing wrong with the electrics and all the plugs were sparking fine.

Would I be right in saying it is the injector and the rebuild wasn't required??? Sad

mine is currently at the indie to look at a similar problem, however not as bad as you describe. at startup there is smoke for a few seconds which then disappear. even when giving it a bit of stick there was no smoke, only when starting it.

I'm holding thumbs that mine is only the oil separator valve (PCV); however indie indicated that it could possibly be the valve stem seals.

still waiting for them to let me know

oooh, my eyes are so bad on pc's I didn't even know that icon was a'car' and you could hover on it! well a bit more info would help us all. if on a diagnostic, at least the emissions would show bad. and to one side... water loss? pressurizing? swapped coil packs to prove? from one side of engine to opposite, on one or all four? easy things to do before pulling the engine....what does the plug look like? were they swapped/changed. if you put an old coloured one in and it comes out cleaner, that's a water problem...

getting my detective hat from the cupboard. and magnifying glass.
