Front differential. Many were recalled for checking and any problems should have been fixed - but worth paying attention. You might get a warning from a knocking sound on full lock at low speed.....

Hk

I read this and tried it but it wont do the knock unless on a rough road and even then only when turning right.
if it was the diff I would expect it to do it on either lock regardless of road surface but I could be wrong.
Also I know that the diff was modified in the recall. You are either at Le Mans or waiting for Le Mans

Fixed!!!

Been fixed!

Took it to the garage and we went for a long long drive. Went back with it and was under the car with them as they poked, prodded, pushed. Nothing looked worn. Left it with them and they stripped the entire suspension on the nearside.

The only thing they could find was a very very small amount of play in the ball joint of the upper track control arm, so little play that it didn't show when the car was sat on its wheels.

They changed the arm too as the bush was starting to degrade. Job done no more knock!

Thanks to all for their replies and suggestions. You are either at Le Mans or waiting for Le Mans

Glad you got it sorted, just fixed the annoying knock on mine. Basically decided that a scatter gun approach was best and swapped everything bar the upper arms, which i will do in the new year. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
