Afternoon Guys,

Got a slight diesel leak coming from the engine.
Appears to be from the fuel return pipe. Have any of you guys ever encountered/heard of something like that before? Only happens when its been started/driven round and then parked up. After a while the drip stops.
Not too fussed about the fuel loss as its minor but from a safety aspect, i would like it sorting!

Started taking things apart last night but decided against it as it was going to take too long.

Anyone recommend an Indie close to Wakefield/Leeds who wont robe me and be nice

Did you find the source of this leak as I have a similar one on my 2008 TDV8.
Losing about an eggcupful every hour whilst engine is running then stops dripping
after a couple of minutes when stopped.

Will probably be the little "O" ring that seals the leak off pipe that connects to all the injectors. I had the same on mine & bought a complete new leak off pipe from Duckworths for about £100 ish. I went down this route as its a hard plastic pipe & in my experience if one or two seals had failed then others were likely to follow. Also given the pipe that connects them all is hard plastic & after five years now probably a bit brittle thought best to change it all. Hope this helps Mike Worse things happen at sea! I would prob say yes as its one piece & goes all down the passenger side then around the back & up the front of the drivers side.Rather a lot has to be stripped out the way but is well within the scope of any one who is mechanically minded. The clips that hold it on are very fiddly & if you are going to do it yourself I would get some spares as you will drop some & potentially loose them! They are only coppers & will save you hrs trying to locate them off the subframe etc.

Thanks for that - first thing is to see if the leak off pipe is the culprit so hope to have a go shortly.

Yes, the leak is from the fuel return pipe on no. 1 injector - spotted it using an inspection camera.
Going in to the garage Tuesday as removing the fuel lines cover plate is beyond me!

I fixed it another way..got my uncle on the case...

Is the pipe junction just a push fit or is it secured by spring loaded pins?

I think its just a push in mate
We fixed it using Thread Seal Tape (plumbers tape)

Been fine ever since and that was back in May! Plan was for it to be a temp fix until i got a new pipe but never got round to it... not leaking anymore so will do it whenever

FUEL LEAK UPDATE
Local garage finally fixed fuel leak from No:1 injector leak off pipe by replacing rubber O ring.
Charged 2 hrs labour most of which was spent removing and refitting injector pipe cover plate (7 fixing nuts),
one of which is almost inaccessible without further strip down!
