Hi all not been on here in a while,

I have an overwhelming urge to have a 4.4 tdv8 RR, at present I have a 2010 110 xs which I love very much!!
Before that I had a 2010 RRS TDV8 which in fairness was an absolutely fantastic machine,
I love the 110 but want a bit more refinement and power etc, especially for towing my large caravan.
What are the 2010 4.4 tdv8 like in terms of ride, power, towing, mud and snow, handling, parking etc better or worse than the RRS tdv8 or disco 4

I've had a sport 2010 HSE 3.0 V6 and I hated it.
It was a disco that wanted to be a full fat.... My only consolation - and I had it about 8 months was that when I sold it I actually got more for it than I paid - work that out??

But is your ffrr any better wealy and if so what and why

Difficult to say, they are different, like chalk and cheese.

I only have the lowly 3.6 but I tow a big twin axle van with it and it is rock solid, compared to the 110 it will be like someone has let the handbrake off....

It rides better than the disco IMHO but isn't quite as sharp handling wise, though you can chuck it around should you feel that way inclined, my disco is only a 2.7 d4 so is slow as, but given they weigh pretty much the same and the ff has more power and torque, the performance difference will be quite marked.

Practicality wise the disco is marginally better having the 7 seats, is narrower so slightly easier to park, but inside feels a poor relative, because the ff is so nice rather than the disco is shabby.

As they both run the TR system the off road/snow/mud performance seems to be tyre related rather than vehicle related. Right tyres =progress, wrong tyres = failure to proceed but only in the most extreme conditions.

That's my 2c on the subject anyway. IMHO get the ff. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The sport was a wags vehicle. I didn't like the ride. My only positive point on the sport (apart from the resale gain) was the engine
The 3.0 V6 is superb.

Oh and it had a fridge u der the armrest which is useful!

check out the weights, I believe they weigh the same, give or take 50-100kg 2002 FF vs 2006 RRS - I scratched my head when I read it, maybe the FF has helium in it tyres.........

Definitely the FF. I've recently sold my 2010 3.0 RRS and picked up a 2012 FF TDV8 4.4. It's as night is to day. I liked the RRS well enough, it took us on some pretty serious off-roading towing a heavy camper trailer through the Kimberley/Cape Leveque/Gibb River Rd and never put a foot wrong. At the time I was pretty impressed with the highway ride, but the Vogue is another level altogether.
The ride in the Vogue, even on the current 22s is 100% better than the RRS, which I found was a bit stiff around town. We're just looking forward to next year when we can take the new car back up north into the rough stuff. (Not on 22s though:-) 2012 L322 TDV8 Luxury

downsides to the RRS, in addition to the above 'wants to be a FF'.

Its small
its a hard, bumpy ride
you can't get as much in the rear.
its not got the gadgets - no electric steering wheel adjustment ! WTF ?

plus side - if you get a Sport for the 'sportiness' - it's much better, as it handles bends and roundabouts at high speed GREAT !
