adjusting headlights for europe

so i'm off to germanland next week and wondering if anybody actually switches the headlights over to righthand driving or do you just not bother even though its an easy matter of flicking a lever...

i have adaptive lights which follow the road and my logic is that because they do that is it absolutely necessary to adjust them.

thoughts? ... - .- -.

I did mine when i went to lemans. Takes 2 mins to do on the standard lights presume its the same on the adaptives

Still on foreign setting i think...... Rolling Eyes There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just had a quick look in the manual but could not find the part about switching for the continent. Is it in the handbook? If so, where?

I have adaptive lights but I flick over when going over to France and beyond. My logic was even though they are adaptive the "throw" pattern is biased to RHD and by switching it reverses that. I.e adaptive lights or not the light pattern projection on the road is biased to RHD and LHD. I guess they wouldn't incorporate the switch otherwise Question

Beam pattern, Stan. Your adaptive headlights don't know you're in Europeland.
If you didn't switch over, whilst on dipped beam, you'll be blinding our fellow Europeans - that's regardless of adaptive headlights

Thumbs Up

PS Did I do it when "en Francais" this summer ? er, no - I forgot Whistle Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

It is in the handbook somewhere, you have to remove the cap on the back of the lights, and there is a lever in each light cluster, which is one way for rhd and the other for lhd, cant remember which is which though.

It places a shutter infront of the beam, so it doesnt swap the beam over but simply masks the part of the standard beam which would dazzle oncoming drivers.

Would have a look in the handbook and find it but its in the car.......at the dealer! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Something like that stan.

Have a similar system in the skoda, but you have to remove the headlamps to swap them over real pita.

Did the ones on the ffrr in the queue for the eurotunnel..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

you'd think with all the gadgets on the range that there would be a menu setting for them to change.. ... - .- -.

I was wondering the same. Considering how integrated all the computers are, that isn't a crazy idea. Thumbs Up

as i'm only driving a few hours in darkness throughout the whole trip , i think i'll just stick some duck tape on the headlights to stop the dazzle, probably will look pants but its an easy solution.. ... - .- -.
