If you do use one, with which charger ?

Now the battery witching season is upon us, my car can be left for several days without use and I don't want to go to it flat. And yes, it's got the big Bosch battery !

 Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

The BIG Bosch....I too have an S5 and when I bought it ppl made it sound like I had rammed Fiddlers Ferry under the bonnet !!!

I have a similar one, not from D3 but they do work and are not that hard to make up with a euro 13 plug and some cable... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I bought one for use on my FFRR (although it would fit any vehicle with a suitable socket) and a CTEK charger, it is an excellent tool and highly recommended.

I made one up and find it very convenient, I can charge the FF with it s bonnet shut and doors locked so if the worst happened you can't be locked out by a flat battery as you connect to it externally. When I contacted CTEK they said they don't recommend this setup due to the cable length involved but I haven't had any problems other than the battery never shows as fully charged even when left overnight.

If you have towbar electrics the adapter is an excellent idea combined with a Ctek MXS-7 or 10 charger.
Also proves a good back-up to the dead car, no key un-lock senario.

^ I did that with our caravan once. I had it plugged into the socket on the side of our garage and just plain forgot to remove it. Thankfully it broke at the garage end and the caravan socket was ok... Previously..

Years ago, the DRI hospital in Derby had Flying Squad Range Rovers for getting doctors to serious incidents sharpish. They were plugged in all the time.
They also had a psychiatric ward. Guess what ? - yes, one stolen Range Rover, complete with blue lights and two tones taken by a chap with some mental health issues . . . .

Used mine today on my D3.

'someone' left an interior light on while she was having a bag of chips in the car.

Light on all night so decided to use the Ctek and Martins fabbo adaptor and give the battery a full charge.

Excellent item highly recommended.

I looked into making one up and then decided it was too much faff and bought Martin's and I'm glad I did.
It's flawless and the car is plugged in right now ready for the cold snap due.
MXS5 and S5 = no probs so far. Vreds going on next Tuesday from Andy

This probably sounds stupid but what does the other end plug into? The mains?
