Looked at my winter wheels yesterday as i was packing away the caravan awning, could just about see them under the mountain of other stuff in the garage.....

Might stick with the summer wheels until it gets really bad. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Mid November usually for me.

7 degrees is supposed to be the cut over point - so until I'm doing more driving below 7 than above, I'll keep the summers on - not that it makes too much difference a few degrees either side - but that's how I think about it.

I bought 2 Goodyear's on eBay as my front tyres won't go through the Mot next month. Turns out they're mud & snow. Only having 2 would I be better off sticking them on the back?

M&S refers to the tread pattern only

Winer tyres are more than just that - they are made of rubber with a higher silica content, so stay more flexible at lower temperatures. The tread blocks have lots of little cuts (sipes) in them too for better grip on ice.

I wouldn't mix tyres at all.

Winters will also have a little snow flake symbol on the side.

Had mine on all summer, couldn't be arsed to change them. No difference in noise, in fact they seem quieter, seem to perform ok, no dramatic wear. I think I will leave them on until they wear and then change them back to the all year ones. Once these ones go then maybe back to some more Vreds.
