United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black
Brake squeak and warm alloy

Driving home yesterday and heard a intermittent long squeal / squeak but it went as soon as i braked but occasionally come back. Once I arrived home I had a quick look around and noticed that the rear passenger alloy was warm along with the brake disk etc.

Does this mean I need a new caliper as the caliper is sticking and causing friction? 2003 Range Rover HSE 3.0 TD6

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue SE Td6 Zambezi Silver

Hi Sounds like it...

I have had the same issue... Don't leave it too long...

I had to have a new disk - new pads and then finally a new calliper...

All mine covered under warranty has I mentioned an issue at buying it and they didn't identify it as brakes...

I was another who ended up replacing the calliper, although you could try removing the pads and working the piston in & out a few times to see if that will do anything.
I tried that on mine and it didn't work so I replaced the thing.

As said above, don't leave it too long as the heat created could also effect your wheel bearing and that even more money to spend. Wink

Thanks for the info. I will get it booked in for the indy to have a look. It had new pads and disks about a year ago. Will have a scout around for a price on the caliper Sad 2003 Range Rover HSE 3.0 TD6

It could be as simple as the ends of the pads rusted and jammed in the caliper, so they do not release. I am sure all shall be revealed when you get the wheel off and have a closer look. Thumbs Up Previously..
