Would be nice to think Lobb's customers wouldn't arrive in a bling white Range Rover.

Like the sound of Espresso/Tan though.

Looks like the Ultimate in the rear except they've done away with iPads and gone back to RSE

I think JLR is realizing the popularity of iPads is decreasing and other systems (Android) are rapidly taking over Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Bit puzzled by the claim that ipad popularity is declining when they relentlessly continue to outsell any other manufacturer by a massive margin and top the specialised press's lists of the best tablet to buy?

They are expensive though, but suppose if you can afford to buy a FFRR AB Black, cost wont be the issue.

I would suspect it more about versatility or compatibility, hope so, as I for one would rather have the choice of what kit to use, rather than being forced to go IOS or Android or Windows etc, as the only option catered to.

Anyway, just my tuppence worth Whistle Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

I'm more surprised that they offer RSE any more.....

Agree that they need to be flexible - Android may be doing well with phones, but I think Apple still have the tablet market pretty much to themselves - at least with the FFRR target market. However, even with iPads there are different sizes & connectors now.

How long now before everyone starts replacing their SWB red rear lights with the LWB white ones? LR is maintaining the L322 ability to make lesser/older models look like the latest/greatest. I can't understand why they do this it can't be a good marketing strategy. No other manufacturer I can think of does it. I guess part manufacturers do well from it though!

Keeping as many of the components common makes manufacturing cheaper.

What else can they do - change the shape of the rear so the lights are different ? That just makes the whole car more expensive. It also wouldn't stop Powerful etc from making copies - so really not worth the hassle for the relatively small number of people who will make the change.

Other manufacturers do similar things - I remember a guy at work paying silly money to change the lights on his 911.

The popularity of Android and cheap(er) tablets based on Android is sky-rocketing. The take up rate of Android based tablets is very high especially in developing economies. As for the iPad and its cost, the average FFRR owner won't care less about it, it will mean that app availability for Android is quickly surpassing Apple.

And as we know from BB and Nokia, if you are not on the "hottest" system(s) you will lose your marketshare very rapidly. I foresee that Apple will not see a steep decline like Nokia and BB but they will see a more painfull market. I mean, more and more people are realizing that Android (especially the Samsung products) outperform the Apple products and that will take an effect sooner or later. I have met quite some big time Apple fans that are abandoning Apple for Samsung/Android, from top IT guys to heavy Apple home users and fans.

Anyway, re. the L405, I don't like the looks of the LWB version, it just looks "too long" for my liking. Would love to dwell in the interior of the AB Black though but with a different interior colour scheme. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I can't readily think of another car manufacturer where you are able to make a 2002 model look exactly the same as a 2012 by simply changing the lights and front bumper. I certainly don't see people doing this on BMW, Mercs, Audis, Jaguars. Anyway it is not about stopping people making the update, I have no problem with that at all. My point is that it is a poor marketing strategy to enable older cars to look like the latest one so there is less incentive to buy the latest product.

Nice bit of advertising for Samsung there ebajema, hope they are grateful. Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

Why? Lots of people spec it and I would think it has a hefty profit margin.

Fair point - I should have expressed surprise that people continue to spec it Wink

B9er, been reading up a lot on the mobile market (due to my current job) and that is my take from it. Samsung is the current Apple of Android. They seem to be leading where Apple is now following and that was quite a bit of the other way around.

Just read another opinion article on Linkedin that makes a lot of sense to me (Apple using it vast amount of cash for improving their products/portfolio and securing their future). I'm not saying Apple is dead, I do however see similarities with BB and Nokia. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see Samsung being passed by another player at some point, plus I don't think we should underestimate Microsoft and Google.

That is it for me on the major off topic on this one. I'm going back to ogling the pics of the AB Black version and daydreaming about being driven around in one of them on the Lagos roads, iso an old decrepit Toy Landcruiser ;(

As on the RSE, I don't understand it being specced either unless the connectivity to most current devices is second to none, or it comes with some superduper cloud based connectivity system that gives you high speed access to internet and work. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
