Trying to source a large imperial socket set

Anyone know a supplier?

Seems the large imperial sizes are only impact sockets which are very expensive. Need it to dismantle my aeroplane engine. It's the large sizes beyond 1 inch that I need. Already have the others.

Thanks.

How about an ex military surplus supplier ?

I've been to this one a couple of times - they appear an extensive tool selection for military stuff . . . .

Thanks, but they don't seem to have any sockets.

They had this nice 26 piece set for £81.60 though. Think I'll get this - so thanks for the advice.

I bought a second hand Elora 31 piece set a few years ago from ebay for less than £100, worth keeping a look out. They looked brand new apart from a couple of scuffs on the inside of two sockets so they were probably stolen Laughing Laughing

Well there's my mistake - looking for imperial instead of AF. What does AF stand for?

Not exactly John. AF is ONE of the imperial range, as is Whitworth, BSF, BSC, BSP etc.

Sorry, my inner geek coming out there. Embarassed

Dom.

The system of imperial units or the imperial system is the system of units first defined in the British Weights and Measures Act of 1824, basically we the British organised the worlds trading units for them.
