If the lip is only slight and they aren't causing you problems i'd just do pads. Mine were vibrating when braking quickly down from 70, along with squealing like a bus. I changed both but when I got the discs off I wished I'd kept them a bit longer. They weren't that bad.

There are a couple of options with the pads - OEM Brembo or Aftermarket (TRW). My local independent suggested that I wouldn't notice the difference but I went with the OEM ones. For all I know, they may be made by TRW anyway but......ho-hum.......!

That is my plan - I have learnt that using aftermarket stuff often comes back to haunt me! I have done discs and pads on smaller/lighter cars before but details like the air suspension causing trouble I need to consider. I feel I will probably need to do the discs too and will probably change the caliper bolts and disc retaining pin too.

What hassle does the discs add? for example where do you find the torques for the caliper bolts, etc

That'll be Iain (aka '10forcash', aka 'TFC') from the disco3 forum. Knows his stuff - he does. In fact, he has probably forgotten more than most dealership technicians ever get to know. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

Must be him - I remember something about 10 for cash - I assumed it was something like he did work for cash - who would do such a thing?
